How to Add the LinkedIn Insight Tag to Your Menu (B2B Catering & Events)
Most pixels in this guide are about consumer marketing — TikTok, Instagram, Pinterest. LinkedIn is the one nobody talks about for restaurants, and that's exactly why it's a quiet edge for any venue selling B2B: corporate catering, conference-lunch packages, private dining for offsites, holiday parties, rehearsal dinners.
The LinkedIn Insight Tag is the only pixel where the visit data tells you about company size, industry, and seniority — not just demographics. That makes it uniquely useful for selling to companies, not consumers.
What is the LinkedIn Insight Tag?
A small script you place on your website. Once installed, LinkedIn knows when a member visits — and can attribute the visit to the LinkedIn Ad they clicked. The Insight Tag also enables "Website Demographics" reports, which break down your menu visitors by job title, function, seniority, industry, and company size.
Why this matters for hospitality B2B
- See which companies are actually researching you. "Website Demographics" shows the top company sizes and industries visiting your menu — gold for catering pitches.
- Retarget executive assistants and HR leads. They're the ones planning office lunches and team offsites. Match an Insight Tag audience with a job-title filter and your retargeting suddenly makes sense.
- Account-Based Marketing for restaurants. If you want to land a few specific corporate accounts, LinkedIn is the only ad platform built for that — and the Insight Tag is the engine that powers it.
- Measure event-space ads. Running an ad for your private room? See whether it actually reached the right job titles, not just any clicks.
How to install the LinkedIn Insight Tag
Step 1 — Get your Partner ID
Go to LinkedIn Campaign Manager (linkedin.com/campaignmanager) → Account Assets (top nav) → Insight Tag → Install my Insight Tag. LinkedIn will show a 6–9 digit Partner ID. That's all you need.
Step 2 — Paste it into nemenu
In nemenu admin → Settings → Integrations → LinkedIn Insight Tag card. Paste the Partner ID, click Save Changes.
Step 3 — Verify it's working
Install the LinkedIn Insight Tag Helper extension. Open your public menu, accept cookies, and the helper should report a fire. Back in Campaign Manager, the Insight Tag status will move from "Unverified" to "Active" within a few minutes.
What gets tracked
v1 fires the standard pageview event when visitors accept the cookie banner. Conversion-specific events (e.g. "submitted catering inquiry") are on the roadmap.
Privacy and compliance
Adding the Insight Tag makes you the data controller. Mention LinkedIn Insight Tag in your privacy policy and link to LinkedIn's privacy policy. nemenu auto-shows the cookie banner; the tag only fires on Accept.
TL;DR
- Get your Partner ID from LinkedIn Campaign Manager → Account Assets → Insight Tag.
- Paste it into nemenu Settings → Integrations → LinkedIn.
- Within a few minutes the tag shows "Active".
- Now you can run B2B-targeted catering and event campaigns with real measurement.
