When you use NEMENU, we collect information you provide directly to us, including:

  • Account information (name, email address, password)
  • Restaurant and menu information you create
  • Payment information (processed securely through Stripe)
  • Communications you send to us

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve our services
  • Process transactions and send related information
  • Send technical notices and support messages
  • Respond to your comments and questions
  • Analyze usage patterns to improve user experience

3. Analytics and Advertising Services

We use the following third-party services to analyze usage and improve our service:

Google Analytics (Google LLC)

  • Collects: Page views, device information, browser type, approximate location, session duration
  • Purpose: Understanding how visitors use our website
  • Data processing: USA
  • Opt-out: Use our cookie preferences or install Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on

Google Ads (Google LLC)

  • Collects: Conversion events (e.g., sign-ups), ad interaction data
  • Purpose: Measuring advertising effectiveness
  • Data processing: USA

Meta Pixel (Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd.)

  • Collects: Page views, device information, browser type, approximate location, ad interaction events
  • Purpose: Measuring advertising effectiveness on Facebook & Instagram, building remarketing audiences
  • Data processing: USA / EEA
  • Opt-out: Cookie preferences (only loads with marketing consent) or Meta's ad-preferences page

Nevision – session recording (nevision.app)

  • Collects: Pages visited, clicks, scrolling and mouse movement, page layout, browser and device information, and JavaScript errors. For signed-in users, also the account email, business ID and plan
  • Not collected: Anything typed into form fields — all inputs, including passwords and email addresses, are masked in your browser before upload
  • Purpose: Finding bugs, understanding how people use NEMENU, and improving the product
  • Data processing: EU (Frankfurt, Germany)
  • Applies to: All NEMENU pages, including public menu pages
  • Note: Nevision is needed for us to operate and support the service, so it runs regardless of your cookie banner choices

These services may set cookies or similar browser storage on your device. You can manage Google Analytics, Google Ads and Meta Pixel through our cookie banner; Nevision runs as described above.

4. Tenant-Installed Tracking on Menu Pages

Restaurants and other businesses ("tenants") on our Pro and Enterprise plans can install their own tracking pixels on their public menu pages. When visitors view a tenant's menu and a pixel is configured, those third parties may set cookies and collect data subject to the tenant's own privacy policy.

Supported tracking pixels and their providers:

For data collected by tenant-installed pixels, the tenant — not NEMENU — is the data controller under GDPR. NEMENU acts as a technical processor: we render the pixel scripts the tenant configured, after the visitor accepts a cookie banner shown on the menu. Visitors can decline at any time, and pixels will not load.

5. Information Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We may share your information only in the following circumstances:

  • With your consent
  • To comply with legal obligations
  • To protect our rights and prevent fraud
  • With service providers who assist our operations

6. International Data Transfers

Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own, including the United States. These countries may have different data protection laws. When we transfer data internationally, we use appropriate safeguards including:

  • Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission
  • Data processing agreements with our service providers
  • Technical and organizational security measures

7. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as necessary to provide our services and fulfill the purposes described in this policy. Specifically:

  • Account data: Retained while your account is active and for up to 1 year after a deletion request, so you can restore your account. You can erase it immediately at any time from the restore screen, or by emailing hello@nemenu.app
  • Menu and restaurant data: Taken offline immediately on account deletion and permanently deleted after 1 year, or immediately on request
  • Analytics data: Aggregated data may be retained indefinitely; identifiable data is deleted after 26 months
  • Session recordings (Nevision): Deleted automatically, no later than 12 months after recording
  • Payment records: Retained for 7 years as required by law

8. Data Security

We implement appropriate security measures to protect your personal information. However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Your Rights

You have the right to access, update, or delete your personal information at any time. You can do this through your account settings or by contacting us at hello@nemenu.app.
