How to Add the Snap Pixel to Your Restaurant Menu

If your target customer is under 30, runs on FOMO, and decides where to eat in the moment — Snapchat reaches them in a way Instagram doesn't. Especially for late-night spots, dessert bars, club restaurants, and any concept that lives in the "where are we going right now" decision window.

But running Snap ads without the Snap Pixel is throwing money at a wall. The Snap Pixel is what turns ad impressions into measurable menu visits.

What is the Snap Pixel?

It's a small tracking script you place on your website. Once installed, Snapchat sees every visit to your menu and links it back to the Snap Ad that brought them. From there: conversion measurement, retargeting, and lookalike audiences — same playbook as Meta and TikTok, just for Snap.

Why Snap is worth it for restaurants

  • Reaches Gen Z and young Millennials better than any other platform. If your concept skews under 30, this is the cheapest reach you'll find.
  • Geofiltered ads. Snap's geo-targeting is ridiculously tight — show ads only to people within 1km of your venue, in the next two hours.
  • Late-night intent. Snap usage spikes after 10pm, exactly when impulse food orders happen.
  • Cheaper CPMs than Meta. For now, at least — early-mover advantage.

How to install the Snap Pixel

Step 1 — Get your Pixel ID

Go to Snap Ads Manager (ads.snapchat.com) → Events Manager → Set up Snap Pixel → Manual install. Snapchat will show the Pixel ID — it's a UUID, formatted like 12345678-1234-1234-1234-123456789012. Copy it.

Step 2 — Paste it into nemenu

In nemenu admin → Settings → Integrations → Snap Pixel card. Paste the UUID, click Save Changes.

Step 3 — Verify it's working

Open your public menu and accept cookies. Back in Snap Events Manager, the Pixel status will flip from "No data" to "Active" once it sees the first PAGE_VIEW event — usually within a minute or two.

Pro tip: Snap's geofilter ads pair beautifully with the pixel. Run a 2km-radius ad around your venue from 9pm–1am, and use the pixel to retarget anyone who scrolled the menu but didn't book the next day.

What gets tracked

v1 fires the standard PAGE_VIEW event when visitors accept the cookie banner. PURCHASE and ADD_CART events are on the roadmap.

Privacy and compliance

Adding the Snap Pixel makes you the data controller. Mention Snap Pixel in your privacy policy and link to Snap's privacy policy. nemenu auto-shows the cookie banner — the pixel only fires on Accept.

TL;DR

  • Get your UUID Pixel ID from Snap Ads Manager → Events Manager.
  • Paste it into nemenu Settings → Integrations → Snap Pixel.
  • Pixel goes Active within a few minutes.
  • Now your Snap ads can be measured, optimized, and retargeted.

Already on nemenu? Open Settings → Integrations to add Snap. New here? nemenu.app — Pro unlocks all six tracking pixels (Meta, TikTok, Google, Pinterest, LinkedIn, Snap).
