Your Menu, Your Brand: How NEMENU's Custom Branding Turns a Digital Menu Into a Signature Moment

The menu is one of the few things every single guest touches. It's the first impression of your food, your service, and your brand. Yet most digital menus look generic — the same five template designs, the same fonts, the same stock layouts. Customers can feel that.

A branded menu does quiet, compounding work. It tells guests "we care about details" before they've even read the first dish. It makes your QR code feel like an invitation rather than a tech widget. And on the practical side, it improves scanability, order confidence, and tip size — all of which have been measured in hospitality research for decades.

NEMENU's Brand Studio is built to make this easy. Every element — colors, fonts, shapes, patterns — can be customised in minutes, with a live preview that shows you exactly what your guests will see. Try it yourself:

Start With a Palette

Your color palette is the single biggest branding decision. NEMENU lets you pick from curated hospitality palettes — Warm Sunset, Forest Garden, Midnight Bistro, Coastal Blue — or enter your exact hex codes to match your existing brand.

Behind the scenes, every color you pick ripples through the menu: buttons, dividers, category headers, price accents, and even the default QR code colors. Change your primary from orange to deep plum and the whole menu reflects it instantly. No template rebuilding, no CSS, no design agency.

Restaurants with a strong existing visual identity should stick to two or three brand colors maximum on the menu. Use your primary for accents (prices, buttons, active states), your background for the page, and neutral tones for text. More than that and the menu starts to feel busy.

Typography That Matches Your Voice

Type is where brand personality lives. A fine-dining restaurant in a 19th-century townhouse should not feel the same as a vibrant street-food joint — and their fonts shouldn't either. NEMENU includes three carefully chosen typography categories:

StyleBest ForFeel
SerifFine dining, wine bars, bistros, bakeriesTraditional, warm, considered
SansCafés, fast-casual, modern conceptsClean, contemporary, approachable
DisplaySignature restaurants, hotels, statement venuesDistinctive, editorial, memorable

Each category includes multiple fonts loaded at variable weights, so headings, body text, and prices can sit in the same family without looking flat. All fonts are web-optimised — they load fast, look crisp on every screen, and include full multi-language character support.

Shape Language: The Detail Most Menus Miss

Corner radius is one of those design details that nobody consciously notices but everyone feels. Sharp corners feel precise, editorial, modern. Rounded corners feel friendly, welcoming, contemporary. Fully pill-shaped elements feel playful, confident, bold.

NEMENU lets you set a single shape language for your whole menu and apply it to cards, buttons, images, and dividers. It sounds small — but getting this one choice right is the difference between "looks good" and "looks intentional."

Patterns and Ornaments

For brands that want to push further, NEMENU offers background patterns — subtle dots, grids, diagonal stripes, or wave textures — in your brand colors. These sit behind your menu content without getting in the way of readability, giving your menu a signature feel.

You can also add small ornaments — separator flourishes between categories, decorative underlines on headings, branded bullet points. These are optional, but they're the kind of touches that elevate a menu from "polished" to "crafted."

All branding choices preview live on both desktop and mobile before you publish. The menu your guests scan is the menu you previewed — no surprises.

Logo, Favicon, and Splash

Upload your logo once and it's everywhere it needs to be:

  • At the top of every menu page, sized correctly for desktop and mobile
  • In the browser tab as a favicon
  • On the QR code as a center logo for branded scans
  • On the splash screen when your menu loads, creating a premium first moment
  • Inside exported PDFs and printed templates

NEMENU automatically generates optimised sizes for each context, so your logo looks sharp whether it's a 16×16 pixel favicon or a full-width hero on a tablet.

Per-Venue Branding

If you run multiple venues, each can have its own brand overrides. Your hotel's Lobby Café and Beach Bar might share the core identity — same logo, same typography — but layer on different palettes, different photography styles, and different color accents. This gives each venue its own feel while keeping the hotel brand coherent across all of them.

Brand presets are saved and reusable. Build one once, apply it to any new venue in seconds, and keep them in sync as your master brand evolves.

Brand Consistency Across Everything

The whole point of branding is consistency. NEMENU pushes your brand choices everywhere a guest might encounter your menu:

  • Public-facing menu (the QR destination)
  • Printable PDF exports for paper backups
  • Email receipts and confirmations
  • QR code graphics used for table tents and posters
  • Social media preview cards when your menu is shared
  • Splash screens and loading indicators

Guests moving between these touchpoints see one brand, not six. That consistency is what makes a small restaurant feel as polished as a luxury hotel — or a luxury hotel feel as sharp as a modern tech startup, depending on what you're going for.

Getting Started

Custom branding is available on all NEMENU plans, with deeper options (per-venue branding, custom fonts upload, advanced patterns) unlocked on Pro and Enterprise. Open the Branding page from your admin sidebar and the Brand Studio is ready.

Your restaurant has a point of view. Your menu should reflect it. With NEMENU's Brand Studio, getting from "default template" to "unmistakably ours" takes minutes, not months.
